Reflecting on the Impactful Growth of Latter-day Saints for Life: A 2022-2023 Year in Review

November of 2022, Latter-day Saints for Life held its first public meeting with some 2 dozen faithful members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. We are humbled at how quickly the Saints have gathered together to protect lives and support the pro-life doctrine of the Church.

Here's a recap of what we saw this year:

Rapid Growth

We have grown to 560 members in one year! Currently, we’re in 36 states and 6 countries! We’re so grateful that the word is spreading and that wonderful Saints like you are stepping forward to pledge to support life and stand for the Church’s pro-life doctrine.

Not a Latter-day Saint for Life yet? Sign the pledge today—and invite a friend to do it, too!

Website Published

Thanks to countless hours of work from our fabulous volunteers, we’ve built an incredible website jam-packed with information. (Check out the section on “Frequently Asked Questions” to help you respond to questions that may arise in a way that aligns with the Church’s doctrine.)

Witnessed the First Area Authority at a Pro-life Event

This January, we were very gratified to have Elder Boucher of the Utah Area Presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints offer the invocation at the pro-life event honoring the babies who had died through abortion—the first official Church authority to attend a pro-life event (to our knowledge). The presence of the Church representative was greatly appreciated by the pro-life Saints in attendance.

Doctrinal Library

Thanks to the selfless work of many volunteers, we compiled an incredible Doctrinal Library with over 300 sources (including scriptures, general conference quotes, official statement excerpts, and more) to support the Church’s doctrine of the sanctity of life and its importance in God’s eternal plan. Plus, it now has a search feature; check it out!

Home Evening Guides: Supporting Families (and Friends) in the Home

We’ve created 5 home evening guides to help members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints teach their families, young and old, about the eternal doctrines that teach us to protect the lives of God’s children. These free guides are chock full of engaging activities, discussions, and adaptations for all ages. Try one out next Monday!

Public Presence

In-person, Latter-day Saints for Life tabled at several events in Utah in the past year, including the Utah Life Festival in June. Online, our faithful pro-life messages have reached over 100,000 people on Facebook and Instagram, and we have also been represented in various media outlets, including the Deseret News, the Thoughtful Faith podcast, Latter-day Media, and the Liberty Roundtable radio show.

Presentations Now Available for Free

Throughout the year, we have prepared and piloted several group presentations and discussions, and now it’s ready for you. Designed to be offered directly by any Latter-day Saint for Life, you can request a presentation for your ward activity, stake fireside, or other group setting to learn about and discuss the doctrines and policies regarding the sanctity of life.

New Powerful Tool to Help Pregnant Moms and Babies

So often, pregnant women are afraid and feel they have little support. That’s why we’ve created this guide to lay out and make accessible the many resources that are available for them. The Resources for Pregnant Women guide is a gamechanger for pregnant mothers, their families, and Church leaders.

Nonprofit Establishment

In August, we became a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization—and as such, we are now accepting donations on our website. Consider making a tax-deductible donation today to help us spread the doctrines of the Plan of Salvation and to stand up for life.

(You can consider it a birthday gift! 😉)

SAVE THE DATE: March 9, 2024

Next year is going to be even greater. March 9 will be our first-ever Latter-day Saints for Life Conference. Save the date! Registration will open in a few weeks, so watch your emails so you get in before seats are filled! It will be held in Salt Lake County, Utah and run from about 8 am till 3:30 pm.

We can hardly wait to tell you more about who and what is on the program! This year's theme is: “We affirm the sanctity of life.”

If you’re in a position to do so, please consider making a donation to support Latter-day Saints for Life and the conference. This can help keep registration costs low to keep it accessible to as many people as possible.
